Against the backdrop of complaints by motorists and commuters over the traffic gridlocks on some roads in Uvwie caused by rehabilitation of the said roads by the Delta State Government, the Chairman of the state Taskforce on Environment and Traffic in Uvwie Local Government Council, Delta State Comrade Isaac Itobi, has enjoined motorists to be patient.
Comrade Itobi stated this in an interaction with news men on Monday in Effurun ,Uvwie Local Government Area.
He noted that the rehabilitation of the said roads was in the best interest of commuters.
While assuring that the Uvwie local government council would provide necessary assistance to ease vehicular moments on the roads, he recalled that the Jakpa and Airport junctions in Effurun were once faced with the challenges of gridlocks when they were under rehabilitation.
“Today, you (newsmen) can see that there is free vehicular moments in Jakpa and Airport junctions,” he said.e
He advised commuters, particularly motorists, not to use the temporary gridlocks on the roads as an excuse by breaking traffic laws as defaulters would be apprehended by the taskforce and made to face the law.
