The Unuevworo of Uvwie Kingdom, High Chief Hope Akasa ( JP) has expressed delight over the new found unity among the Warri indigenous ethnic nationalities of Itsekiri, Urhobo and Ijaw.
Akasa who is the highest traditional chief in Uvwie Kingdom, made the expression in an exclusive media chat with our correspondent at his Alaka residence, Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area last weekend.
He noted that the new found unity among the Warri indigenous ethnic nationalities was shown during the just concluded 5th coronation anniversary of the Olu of Warri.
Akasa lauded the Itsekiri monarch for extending his invitation to the monarchs of the two other ethnic nationalities just as he also commended the monarchs of the two other ethnic nationalities for honouring the invitation of the Olu of Warri.
The highly esteemed Uvwie high chief, specifically hailed the Itsekiri monarch for his proclamation against Itsekiris calling the other Warri indigenous ethnic groups derogatory names.
While calling for the sustain new found unity among the Warri indigenous ethnic nationalities, he noted that no meaningful development can take place in the absence of peace.
Akasa then expressed optimism that a peaceful coexistence among the Warri ethnic nationalities will attract development to Warri and its environs.
Akasa also extended his message of commendation to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the new found unity among the Warri indigenous ethnic .
He noted that the ethnic rivalry among the Warri indigenous ethnic nationalities has been on from time immemorial and that is the administration of Governor Oborevwori that the rivalries was put to an end. “
