Okakuro ( Pa ) Moses Asini has asserted that moderation Is a key factor to longevity in human beings.
Pa Asini who bears the exalted title of ‘ Ewewu ‘ of the ancient Urhobo Kingdom of Okpe made the assertion in an exclusive media interaction with our correspondent during his 90th birthday thanksgiving Mass at St . Joseph Catholic Church, Okpe Local Government Area on 22nd Saturday, 2026 .
” The younger generations should be moderate in whatever they do . They should also be contended with whatever they have. And above all , get closer to God . These are the secrets behind my longevity so far.
“Many years ago,I prayed that God should let me live up to 75 years old. But today here I am, celebrating 90 years in good health. I am really excited. I give the glory to God. ” he added
Pa Asini however identified his late wife Mageret (nee Sideso) as a major contributor to the blessings of his life.
Meanwhile, the Chairman Board of Internal Revenue Delta State, Chief Hon Solomon Okporua Ighrakpata who represented Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at the mass thanksgiving service, noted that Okakuro Moses Asini has positively contributed to the development of Oha Community, Okpe Kingdom and indeed Delta State.

The Executive Chairman of Okpe Local Government Council, Okakuro Isaiah Esiovwa spoke in the same vein as he noted that it is not easy to clock 90 years in good health. We are proud and glad to celebrate him. ”
The officiating Catholic priest, Reverend Father Abraham Eyitene in his sermon, praised Okakuro ( Pa ) Moses Asini for choosing to thank God for his 90 years birthday anniversary with a mass thanksgiving service.
He also extolled the virtues of the highly esteemed Okpe chief as he noted that Pa Asini ‘ s good qualities are responsible for his long life so far.
The cleric further disclosed that Okakuro Asini has contributed immensely to the growth of the parish in cash and kind.
Perhaps, the most detail encomium on the celebrant came from the Chairman of Oha Elders Council, Okakuro (Dr) Joseph Ekugbere Ejoh, a lawyer who stated among other things that the 90 years birthday anniversary of Okakuro (Pa) Asini was a celebration of honesty, deligence, wisdom and kindness . ” His insightful nine decades in this World so far, has won several titles: educator, multinational company executive, pioneer and friend” he added
High point of the event was thanksgiving by Okakuro( Pa ) Moses Asini accompanied by his necleae family members, Senator Ede Dafinone, Chief Hon Solomon Okporua Ighrakpata, the Chairman of Okpe Local Government Council Okakuro Isaiah Esiovwa, the Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Chief Hon Anthony Onoriode Ofoni, Dr Joseph Ekugbere Ejoh Esq, Okakuro Best Umukoro among others .
Two Catholic priests , Reverend Father Moses Idi and Reverend Father Samuel Taiwo were also sighted at 90th birthday anniversary thanksgiving mass of Okakuro Pa Asini.
Action later shifted to the posh residence of Okakuro (Pa) Moses Asini in Oha Community where he held a very superb reception for guests who came from far and near.
