Ten staff of Delta Broadcasting Service, DBS, Warri have been honoured for their contributions to the growth of the media outfit in year 2022.
Comrade Daniel Oji emerged Best Staff of News and Current Affairs Department, Best Reporter of theYear ,Nkem Nwaeke, Presenter of the Year, Ese Pius-Ogoghorhie.
Others are Faith Umukoro Best Staff of Account/Finance Department, Gladys Ozah, Best Staff of Administration Department, Jeremiah Nkembuowon, Best Staff of Engineering Department, Morrison Otoroloho Best Staff of Marketing Department,Obes
Isunguyo Best Staff of Programmes Department, while Grace Alimasuya clinched Best Artiste Award.
Mr Johnson Obasedje, a Programme Producer cum presenter, clinched the Best Staff of the Year award.
General Manager of Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri, Pastor Malcolm Oteri, said the award ceremony which is the third in the series, was initiated to appreciate
efforts of staff and inspire them to be productive.
Pastor Oteri commended Staff of DBS Warri for their commitment and contributions which has translated to the station being on air and encouraged that such commitment be sustained.
While stating that many Staff were involved in the nomination process to determine the best staff for different categories, Pastor Oteri asked those who did not win this year to redouble their efforts towards next year’s award.
Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, DBS Warri, Comrade John Glover, that of Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union, RATTAWU, Mrs Faith Umukoro, who is a recipient of one of the awards, commended Management for recognizing contributions of staff and taking care of their welfare.
They urged Delta State Governor , Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to employ more staff for the establishment .
Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Best Staff of News and Current Affairs Department. Comrade Daniel Oji, stated that the awards would spur them to give their best.
Highpoint of the event was presentation of plaques to the awardees.
