A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , chieftain in Ngbilebiri 11 Ward 8, Kiagbodo Burutu Local Government Area, Hon Okpako Doctor has urged Deltans to ignore the outburst of former Minister of Niger Ministry Elder Goddey Orubebe on the adoption of 2023 PDP Delta State governoship candidate Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori.
Okpako Doctor spoke to news men on the adoption in Warri last weekend.
He stated that his reaction to the outburst of the former Minister of Niger Delta Ministry was necessary in order for Deltans not to be misled.
Okpako Doctor stressed that the decision to adopt Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori was taken in the overall interest of Ijaw Nation by who is who in politics as well as opinion leaders in Ijaw Nation.
” Even the leader of Ijaw Nation, Chief ( Pa ) Edwin Kiagbodo Clarke sent his son Chief Ebikebi to represent him at the well attended meeting” he added
Okpako Doctor noted that the meeting was the biggest gathering of Ijaw people in Delta State on the taking of an important decision on any matter in recent times.
” Orubebe reacted in order to satisfy his party the APC but in doing that, he should not mislead Deltans on the true adoption of Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori as the sole candidate for 2023 Delta State governoship election .
” Ijaw Nation has spoken and our decision is final ” he added.
