HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe 1 the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom has prayed that God should grant the Governor of Delta State and the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP )Vice Presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa his good heart desires.
The traditional ruler made the prayer in his opening address during this year’s Uvwie Day celebration at Urhobo College Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area on Monday 26th December, 2022 .
The Abe 1 who spoke in Uvwie dialect of Urhobo language stated that he made the prayer from his heart because of the immense contributions of Governor Okowa to the positive development of Uvwie Kingdom.
He however warned sons and daughters that were doing things that were inimical to the positive development of the area to desist from their evil ways in the interest of the positive development of the area.
Abe 1 was full of appreciation to the Uvwie born Federal Minister Chief Festus Keyamo for attracting some projects to Uvwie Kingdom.
He however appealed to the relevant authorities to complete the said projects.
The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom strongly advised politicians of Uvwie origin to shun politics of bitterness as he noted that Uvwie was made up of one people.
” Politicians should not allow Uvwie Kingdom to be turned into a battle field.
” I pray for peaceful elections. We should maintain the peace , before , during and after the elections.
For his part ,Chief Suny Popo who spoke to newsmen hailed the traditional ruler for his articulated and thought provoking speech.
Similarly the leader ( Seriki ) of Arewa Community in Uvwie Kingdom, Alhaji Suleiman Jauro also spoke to newsmen as he appreciated the Uvwie monarch for carrying Arewa people along in his rulership of Uvwie Kingdom.
On behalf of Arewa people in Uvwie Kingdom, Alhaji Suleiman Jauro pledged his continuous loyalty and support to the Uvwie monarch.
