Peace Prevails: Aniocha South Council Brokers Truce in Azagba Ogwashi Land Tussle

OGWASHI-UKU – The Aniocha South Local Government Council has successfully mediated a ceasefire in the ongoing land boundary dispute at the Azagba Ogwashi Market .

In a high-level meeting held  at the Council Secretariat, officials hosted representatives from the Azagba Ogwashi community and Graceland Channels Limited to address lingering tensions.
The session, described as constructive and solution-driven, focused on finding a lawful path forward for all stakeholders.
The Graceland Channels delegation was led by Pastor Nat Omoruyi, while the Azagba Ogwashi community team was headed by President General Pastor Adingupu Ernest.
Representing the Local Government, the Council Secretary, Hon. Prince Tony K. Ebube, alongside legal and administrative heads, conducted a thorough review of documents and field insights.
Following the deliberations, both parties signed onto a formal truce, pledging to halt hostilities and embrace dialogue.
Hon. Ebube assured the groups that the Executive Chairman would review the findings to ensure a final resolution that is fair, balanced, and protective of community interests.
For now, a fragile peace has been restored as the Council concludes its consultations.
