The Rotary Club of Edjeba, under Rotary International District 9141, has donated birth delivery kits to pregnant women at the Edjeba Health Centre in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

President of the Rotary Club of Edjeba, Rotarian Benjamin Agajelu, while addressing the expectant mothers, said the gesture aligns with one of Rotary International’s seven areas of focus – maternal and child health care.
He appealed to the pregnant women to heed the advice of medical doctors and nurses, especially in taking their routine drugs.
Rotarian Agajelu added that the donation was to ensure safe delivery without stress, particularly in purchasing delivery kits.

Also speaking, An Assistant District 9141 Governor and Past President of the Rotary Club of Edjeba, Rotarian Sunny Oveisi, said the club’s gesture was a token to show support and care for the safe delivery of the women and their babies.
He recounted several occasions the club had provided delivery kits to pregnant women in Edjeba, assuring that they would continue to assist expectant mothers, especially the indigent.
The delivery kit bags contained items such as sanitary pads, surgical gloves, mucus extractor, and treated mosquito nets, among others.
A medical doctor and Rotarian, Dr. Victory Agbroko, and the Matron of Edjeba Health Centre, Mrs. Clara Agbonkhese, advised the pregnant women on health-related issues and hygiene during pregnancy.

They urged the expectant mothers to take supplements, create time for relaxation, attend antenatal regularly, and avoid alcohol and smoking.
Some of the expectant mothers who spoke expressed happiness and prayed for God’s blessings on the Rotarians.
The Rotary Club of Edjeba also presented insecticides and disinfectants to the Edjeba Health Centre.
