Rotary Club of Warri Metropolis has Fumigated and Rehabilitated the Dilapidated Warri Correctional center,Okere in Warri South local government area of Delta State.

The president of Rotary Club of Metropolis, Rotarian Ayemidejo Robert Omeresan who led the Rotary international District 9141 Governor , Rotarian Chinedu Ikegwuani and his entourage from the District as well as members of the club to the correction center disclosed that the gesture was in line with one of Rotary International seven areas of focus which is Environmental, Health and Disease Prevention Treatment.
He stated that the rehabilitation of part of the correction center roof was necessitated by the sufferings the inmates pass through when it rains so the club had to assist by reroofing the building so the inmates can be comfortable while it rains .
The president of Rotary Club of Warri Metropolis said they also had to Fumigate the Correctional center to kill mosquitoes and other insects that are harmful to the inmates.
For his part Rotary international District 9141 Governor Rotarian Chinedu Ikegwuani while commending the club for the gesture asked the members to continue to assist the inmates , stressing that they can collaborate with other Rotary Club in the area to embark on another meaningful project that will put smiles on the faces of the inmates .
He informed the inmates and the warders that the project was done through contributions by members of Rotary Club of Warri Metropolis as Rotary is known for his charity work .
The deputy controller of the Warri Correctional center Represented by Mr Paul Edorobe and one of the inmates thanked the club for the gesture and prayed that God will bless them .
The principal of the adult education school in the correctional center appealed for donations to enable the school authority enrol more inmates for the forth coming NECO examination.
