BOMADI – Ahead of what is expected to be a landmark gathering, Ijaw leaders in Delta State are finalizing preparations to host Governor Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori this Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
The high-profile event is scheduled to take place at the Ultra-Modern Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori Multipurpose Event Centre in Bomadi, the traditional headquarters of the Western Ijaw Nation.
The reception is organized by a coalition of elected and appointed Ijaw officials to celebrate the Governor’s administration and strengthen the bond between the state government and the Ijaw people.

In a show of synergy, the Central Working Chairman, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, led a delegation of committee heads to Bomadi to finalize logistics.
The visit included key figures such as Hon. Dr. Barry Pere Gbe (Finance), Hon. Godknows Angele (Food), Barr. Mrs. Lyna Aliya Ochorlor (Arena), and Hon. Peres Oloye (Media).
Following a strategic meeting, the Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council and Security Sub-Committee head, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, led an inspection of the venue.
Speaking after the tour, Hon. Andaye assured the public that all security and administrative measures are firmly in place.
“Bomadi is ready. We have mobilized all resources to ensure that His Excellency is received in a peaceful, organized, and dignified environment,” Hon. Andaye stated.

Echoing the Chairman’s confidence, the Media and Publicity Committee Chairman, Hon. Peres Oloye, noted that the planning process has been seamless.
