Rotary Club of Effurun Gateway, Rotary Club of Okpe, Rotary Club of Plantation City and Rotary Club of Warri Central have donated Disinfectant to expectant mothers in warri
The Four Rotary Clubs in Warri South, Okpe, Uvwie and Ughelli South Local Government Areas of Delta state under Rotary International District 9141 donated disinfectants to expectant mothers to prevent them from contacting diseases during their pregnancy.
The donation took place at the Cottage Hospital, Warri, Upper Erejuwa Road in Warri South LGA, where over 50 expectant mothers were present for their regular antenatal care.
Speaking during the outreach, the Presidents of the four clubs Rotarians Churchill Tebite of Effurun Gateway, Alex Ilenikhena of Okpe, Peter Francis a representative of Plantation City, and Harose Igbudu of Warri Central said disease prevention and treatment is one of Rotary’s International seven areas of focus.

They noted that the project is aimed at supporting the hygiene of pregnant women.
The Rotarians advised the expectant mothers to take their routine drugs regularly and maintain good personal hygiene during pregnancy.
They urged the women to always visit the clinic whenever they have health concerns.
Also speaking, Assistant District Governors for Areas 41 and 42, Rotarians Faith Ovie and Bridget Ideji, said the District Governor, Rotarian Anthony Olikagu, is happy with the clubs for the initiative to put smiles on the faces of indigent expectant mothers.
Representatives of HYPO also took the expectant mothers through a lecture on infection prevention, demonstrating how the use of disinfectant can help prevent infections during pregnancy and childbirth.
Some of the beneficiaries thanked the four Rotary clubs for the gesture.
