300 students of community Secondary School Swali, Yenagoa in Bayelsa state have Benefitted from the free School Uniforms donated by Members of Rotary international District 9141 Transformer year .
The gesture according to Past District Governor of Rotary International District 9141 Transformer Year, Rotarian Virginia Major was to mark the 2nd Transformer reunion .
PDG Major who led other members of the Transformer year to present 300 uniforms to male and female students of Community Secondary School Swali ,Yenagoa noted that the gesture was inline with one of Rotary international
7 areas of focus which is Basic Education and Literacy .
She stated that some members of the group had earlier carryout a survey and found out that most of the students do not have clean and good looking uniforms .
She noted that the donation of the school uniforms would not only give the children confidence and make learning interesting for them but to alleviate the burden of their parents of providing new school uniforms for them.
PDG Major commended the Headmistress and teachers of the community Secondary school Swali for ensuring that the students are academically sound by impacting knowledge on them.
Others who spoke including the chairman of the Transformer Second reunion , AGD Wilson Kokarhaye , the vice Chairman AGD Lawrence Nwadiogbu and the Secretary Rtn. Adamazi Ezenagu Stated that the donation of the school uniforms to the students is part of Rotary humanitarian services to the people of the society.
They advised the students to take their studies seriously inorder for them to become better persons in future .
Speaking shortly after the donation of 300 school uniforms to the students ,the Headmistress Mrs Grace Amabebe thanked members of Rotary international District 9141 ,2020-2021 Transformer year for the gesture .
The Headmistress noted that parents of the children would be relieved of spending money to purchase new uniforms.
She commended members of Rotary international for their continuous humanitarian services to the people of the society especially the needy .
Members of the Transformer year later organised a dinner Night party to reunite and unwind after series of programmes at the 2023 District 9141 Joint conference , DISCON .
Other members of Rotary International District 9141 attended the reunion Dinner Night party of the Transformer year .
