HRM( Dr) Emmanuel Sideso JP OON Ovie of Uvwie kingdom Abe I has commended Delta state Government for approving the teaching of Uvwie dialect in primary schools in Uvwie local government area.
The Uvwie monarch stated that with the commencement of Uvwie
dialect in primary schools from 2024-2025 academic session more children in Uvwie will understand and speak the dialect.
Elated Ovie of Uvwie kingdom Abe the first revealed that the idea of reviving the Uvwie dilect which started 15 years ago has now gotten approval for it to be taught in primary schools in Uvwie local government area.
He commended the Uvwie dilect restoration initiative team led by Chief Sonny Daboner for their courage and patience in ensuring that the subject was approved .
Executive chairman of Delta State internal Revenue services chief Solomon Ighrakpata commended the Ovie of Uvwie Abe I for supporting the restoration of Uvwie dialect in primary schools in Uvwie Local government .
Chief Ighrakpata who was represented by Executive assistant tech Mr Paul Itawansa noted that the introduction of the teaching of Uvwie dialect in primary schools will help revive the dialect from going into extinction .
Also speaking the member Representing Uvwie in the state House of Assembly and minority leader Hon Edafe Emakpor said language is a form of identity of people and culture ,pledging
to support the reviving of Uvwie dialect and it’s teaching in primary schools in Uvwie local government area.
The chairman of Uvwie dilect restoration initiative,Chief Sonny Daboner whose speech was read by his wife, Mrs Rose Daboner thanked the ovie of uvwie for his support for the idea of teaching Uvwie dialect in primary schools.
He also commended the Uvwie monarch for his financial donation to kick start the programme .

EJEDEGBA appealed to the people of Uvwie to support the programme , saying it is a laudable achievement
The Guest speaker Dr Christy Okeoghene in her lecture titled “save Uvwie dialect from going into extinction ” said teaching of Uvwie dialect in primary schools in Uvwie local government area will help the dialect from extinction.
She commended Delta state Government for approving Uvwie dialect in primary schools in Uvwie local government area.
She advised parents to always speak Uvwie dialect at home to enable their children catch up with the dialect
Highpoint of the event was the unveiling of Uvwie dialect text books , computer amongst others by the Ovie of Uvwie kingdom and his council of chiefs to kick start the programme ,dancing and singing of the new National anthem in Uvwie dilect by pupils of Erowho primary school 2
