The Executive Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Chief Anthony Onoriode Ofoni, JP, has congratulated the Chairman of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service, DIRS, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, on his third anniversary in office, describing his tenure as one marked by innovation and remarkable achievements.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, on behalf of the Government and people of Uvwie LGA, Ofoni commended Ighrakpata for his commitment to strengthening the state’s internally generated revenue through transparent, accountable and people-oriented policies.
The Uvwie Council Chairman said under Ighrakpata’s leadership, DIRS has witnessed significant transformation driven by reforms that have enhanced efficiency, modernized tax administration, improved revenue generation and strengthened public confidence in the state’s revenue system.
According to him, the achievements recorded by the agency in the past three years have contributed immensely to the growth and development of Delta State by providing the financial resources needed to execute impactful projects and improve public service delivery.
Ofoni described Ighrakpata as an exemplary administrator whose dedication, integrity, professionalism and strategic vision have positioned DIRS as one of the leading revenue agencies in Nigeria.
“Your three years of purposeful leadership have demonstrated that commitment, innovation and transparency remain the foundation for sustainable growth. The remarkable progress recorded by the Delta State Internal Revenue Service is a testament to your competence and unwavering dedication to the service of our dear state,” he stated.
The Council Chairman also praised the cordial working relationship between the state government and local government councils, noting that improved IGR has continued to support development programmes that positively impact communities across the state.
He expressed confidence that Ighrakpata’s wealth of experience would inspire greater accomplishments, and urged him to remain steadfast in advancing reforms that will further strengthen the state’s economic prosperity.
