The Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for convening the Delta State Security Summit 2026, describing the initiative as “timely and far-reaching”.
Speaking to newsmen on the sidelines of the summit held Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, Andaye, who also serves as Secretary of the Delta State Chapter of ALGON, said the relative peace in Delta, unlike the insecurity ravaging many parts of the country, is a result of pragmatic interventions by the governor.

He listed some of the interventions to include strategic collaboration with security agencies through the provision of operational vehicles and logistics support, as well as the inclusion of traditional rulers, community Presidents-General, and local security groups in the fight against crime.
Andaye said the diverse assemblage of stakeholders at the summit reflected the importance Governor Oborevwori attaches to security, noting that the governor has “taken the bull by the horns” on the issue.
“The challenge of insecurity can only be tackled by the concerted efforts of all and sundry, from government to the governed,” the Bomadi chairman said. He expressed optimism that the summit will address grey areas and strengthen collaboration among all actors in the state’s security architecture.
According to him: “Let me first of all commend my proactive Governor and leader, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for convening this all important security summit. His decision to host this epoch-making event speaks highly of his proactiveness in addressing critical issues frontally. I am optimistic that going forward, Delta will witness the effects of this synergy of gathering key stakeholders to brainstorm on the way forward in nipping insecurity in the state in the bud.”
Andaye assured that Bomadi LGA under his watch will strengthen its proactive approach. “We have already put measures in place in collaboration with our security agencies. But we will improve on it, going forward. This security summit is well thought out and will achieve its desired objectives, thanks to our proactive Governor,” he added .
