Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, has officially launched the 5th Edition of the Bomadi Elderly Citizens Empowerment Programme (BECEP) at the Council Pavilion, Bomadi Local Government Headquarters.
This initiative, originally introduced last year is in line with the Renewed HOPE by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the M.O.R.E agenda of Delta State Governor ,Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori was aimed to provide financial support and food items to vulnerable senior citizens.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Dagidi Andaye reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of elderly in Bomadi emphasizing the need for continuous support.
“Since the beginning of this year, it has not been easy, but God has been faithful in keeping us all alive to witness this great occasion once again. It is a privilege to express love and kindness to our elderly people in local communities, knowing that age is not on their side. As a government, we have chosen to distribute cash gifts to our elderly men and women.
Hon. Dagidi was accompanied by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. (Chief) Mrs. Poweide Guembe Bekes, and other serving Supervisory Councillors and key stakeholders during the presentation of support to the elderly .
Responding the Beneficiaries prayed that God will continue to bless the council chairman and his executive for their continuous support and care to them.
