The Provost of the College of Education warri Dr Dickson Oyovwi has charged the newly admitted 348 students of the institution to be focused and live up to the ideals of the college as anyone found to be involved in lawlessness and anti-social vices shall be expelled .
Dr Oyovwi gave the charge during the 44th and 32nd Matriculation ceremony of Regular and Weekend NCE Programme held at the institution Hall , Edjeba warri .
The colourful matriculation ceremony attracted many parents , relatives and friends of the Matriculants .
The provost of the college of Education warri Dr Dickson Oyovwi who was Represented by the deputy Provost Dr Fidelia Ighrakpata disclosed that out of the 348 students admitted , 62 are weekend students .
While noting that without matriculation there can not be convocation ceremony , Dr Oyovwi stated that he wants all the students to succeed at the end of their programme and urged them not to be discouraged and distracted .
He added that the college curriculum is very robust to equip them as world class teachers .
The Provost thanked the state Governor Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for his contributions to the development of the school and appealed to the state government to do more by equipping the college to be able to train world class teachers.
He commended the leadership of the Niger Delta Development commission NDDC for reconstructing some of the college structures that were affected by devastating Storm .
To the parents Dr Oyovwi encouraged the parents to get their children and wards matriculation numbers so that they can check and monitor their academic progress from the college website .
He Urged the parents and guardians to play a supportive role inorder toake schooling easy for their children and wards.
The Acting Registrar Mr Alfred Omajugho while administering the matriculation oath to the students charged them to obey the rules and regulations of the institution .
Some of the elated Matriculants thanked God for making them to be admitted as students of the college .
They promised to abide by the rules and Regulations of the college.
