Delta State Working Committee of Accord Party has refuted an alleged plan to endorse the gubernatorial candidate of another Political Party in Delta State.

In a statement, the leadership of Accord Party in Delta State says the Party has no plans to support or collaborate with another political party in the forthcoming Governorship and State House of Assembly elections, as it has her own candidates.

It emphasized that the Governorship Candidate of the Party, Mrs Helen Onokiti and those for the State House of Assembly, are all eminently qualified for the positions and presently enjoy wide support from across the state.

It noted that, due to the huge support base of the party’s Candidates from across the state, the leadership of the party cannot endorse another party’s candidate and jeopardise the bright chances of her candidates as well as disappoint Deltans who have confidence in them.

It stated that, information at the Party’s disposal indicates that some disgruntled elements within Accord Party have perfected plans to endorse a Governorship Candidate of another Political Party in Delta State, warning against such act.

It warned, anyone under any guise that want to enter into any such an unholy alliance or dealings to desist or be made to face the wrath of the law.

It also warned Political Parties in Delta State to be weary of such a Persons and distance themselves from them, as such plan of endorsement did not emanate from the party.

It adds that, the Legal Department of the party is already aware of the plans and are getting ready to institute legal action against any person or group of persons as well as any Political Party or parties that may want to violate the sovereignty of the party.

It stated that, Delta State ACCORD PARTY under its new leadership is not an appendage of any Political Party, but it’s standing on its own and will continue to do so.
