The Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Hon. Anthony Ofoni, has inaugurated a 12-member Ebrumede community committee to oversee the administration of the Community.
The inauguration took place on Friday at the Ebrumede Town Hall and was described as a major step towards strengthening governance and driving development in the community.
The committee was carefully constituted to reflect the various indigenous families that make up the Ebrumede community, namely Ikrukru, Obakpolor, Okoloba, Erhisevweya, Igho Oberuomo, Oghogho, and Ogbanefe, with the aim of ensuring inclusiveness and fairness in community administration.
Uvwie local government chairman chief Anthony Ofoni charged the newly installed chairman and members of the Ebrumede community committee to work with unity of purpose and to prioritize peace, transparency, and the overall development of the Ebrumede community.
He noted that the council is committed to supporting community structures that will promote grassroots growth and effective service delivery.
The newly installed chairman of the Ebrumede community committee , Mr Johnson wilikie thanked the community for the trust reposed in him and pledged to move the community forward ..
Mr Wilikie called on members of the committee to join hands with him to enable them to succeed .
He promised that the committee would embark on programmes to empower the youths and elderly in the community.
For their part the Unuevworo of Erovie high chief Sunday Agbugbu and the usiavwe High chief Rex Eju advised the newly installed committee to work together and attract more development to the community.
They also Urged the people of the community to support the newly installed members of the community committee for them to make Ebrumede community an envy of other communities in Uvwie kingdom
The inauguration was witnessed by community leaders, stakeholders, and residents who expressed optimism that the new committee will bring progress to Ebrumede.
The newly inaugurated Ebrumede community committee included Efe Oghogho as Vice Chairman, Victor Martins Ogbanefe as Secretary, Chief Murphy E. Emakpor as Treasurer, alongside Measure Arubayi, Jackson Ogbanefe, Enayefewa Ovuefor, Lawrence Eghujovwo, Matthew Wilikie, Lawrence Eru Okoloba, Ejiro Orakpor, and Edward Oberuemo as members.
The oath of office was administered by Onoriode Agberia, Esq. with Chairman Ofoni supervising and validating the swearing-in process.
The inauguration was witnessed by several prominent personalities, including Chief Mike Okenini, Chief Edmund Ofuje, Chief Thomas Agimabor, Chief Daniel Ugava, Chief Godfrey Okoloba, Elder Charles Ugava, Elder Stephen Emakpor, as well as women, youths, and other members of the Ebrumede community,
