The Rotary Club of Warri Central has inaugurated a state-of-the-art solar-Powered Borehole at Karien Street. Okumagba Layout,Warri South local Government Area of Delta State.
President of the club , Rotarian Efetobore Tobrise stated that the initiative is the club’s star Project “Water for All” WASH” designed to provide the local community with a consistent and clean water supply.
Rotarian Tobrise speaking shortly after the Inauguration of the solar powered borehole project executed by the club and inaugurated by Rotary international District 9141 Governor Rotarian Anthony Woghiren represented by Assistant District Governor zone 6 Rotarian Nicholas Otobor stated that the solar energy borehole will eliminate the community’s dependence on public power or expensive fuel to power the borehole.
She added that the solar powered borehole will enable the residents have access to potable water even during power outages.
Tobrise added that the project directly aligns with Rotary International’s commitment to improving health and sanitation standards across the globe.

Also the project chairman Rotarian Isioma Uwagbai revealed that the club after conducting it’s need assessment in Karien Street, Okumagba Avenue decided to provide potable drinking water to the people and appreciated the landlord of the compound that provided space for the project .
Earlier during the inauguration the Assistant District Governor zone 6 Rotarian Nicholas Otobor who represented the District 9141 Governor advised the residents to maintain the solar powered borehole for it to last longer and attract more projects to the area.
Some of the leaders in Karien Street including Chief Michael Obada , Mr Stephenson Obioru ,Mr Nelson Oghwor amongst others thanked Rotary club of Warri central for the gesture and pledged to take proper care of the project .
The Inauguration ceremony serves as a testament to Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self.
