In a powerful display of political cohesion, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria ALGON,Delta chapter led by Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye and other Council Chairmen, joined the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly , Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor to endorse the Senator representing Delta South senatorial Thomas Joel-Onowakpo alongside President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, for 2027

The Oleh Township Stadium was a scene of political synergy on Friday during Senator Joel-Onowakpo official declaration to seek a second term in the National Assembly.

The declaration served as a major rallying point for the region’s leadership, notably featuring a massive show of solidarity from the Delta State Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON)
Addressing a massive crowd of supporters and stakeholders, Senator Joel-Onowakpo grounded his re-election bid in a “record of results.”
He disclosed that his tenure has produced eight sponsored bills, four of which have scaled both chambers of the National Assembly.
Beyond legislation.
The Senator highlighted his grassroots impact, including ,Over 1,500 constituents benefited from various intervention schemes, Skills training for 500+ youth and numerous job placements,
Sustained scholarship schemes for indigent students across the district.
Senator Joel-Onowakpo praised the President for his commitment to the Nigerian Maritime University and lauded Governor Oborevwori’s aggressive infrastructural drive across Delta State.
The event took a significant turn when the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, presided over a voice vote that saw the unanimous endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for re-election.

Also the Secretary of Delta ALGON and Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, led a powerful delegation of Delta South Council Chairmen to the event.
The group, representing Bomadi, Burutu, Isoko South/North, Patani, and the Warri LGAs, reaffirmed their collective support for the Senator’s return.
Hon. Andaye noted that the presence of all district chairmen signaled a “unity of purpose” aimed at ensuring effective representation and sustained development for the people of Delta South.
