In line with one of the seven areas of Focus of Rotary Club International , which is Providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, Rotary Club of Ubeji has donated Borehole water and Toilet facility to Yonwuren College, Ugbuwanguwe in Warri South local Government Area of Delta State .
Inaugurating the Projects , Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Dr Michael Tidi commended Rotary club of Ubeji for the gesture .
Dr Tidi said both projects are very important facilities Schools must have in place .
Dr Tidi who is also a Rotarian prayed God to bless the donors , directing the Principal of Yonwuren College to inform the Council when there is need to maintain the projects.
Earlier, Assistant Governor Rotary club District 9141 Rotarian Fred Ejutemieden while addressing Rotarians, friends of Rotary, Students and Staff of Yonwuren College said the water and Toilet projects are for the school and Ugbuwanguwe community , appealing to the community leaders to help monitor the projects to prevent vandalism.
He urged the students to make good use of the facilities to improve their hygiene condition .
Also speaking the President Rotary Club of Ubeji , Rotarian Hesse Orode disclosed that the project was
actualized from the resources of members of
Rotary club of Ubeji in partnership with Proctor and Game, H2O for life and PIND foundation .
Rotarian Orode added that the project was inline with the seven focus areas of Rotary club international District 9141 , adding that the school authority during their visit demanded for the project to improve the hygiene condition of the students.
For their part, the chief inspector of Education Warri South , Mrs Henrietta Obiegba represented by Mrs Oghale Onekohwomo , Principal of Yonwuren College Ugbuwanguwe Mrs Esther Abrakata-Ogwudu , Olara-Aja of Ugbuwanguwe Prince Agidotan Yonwuren represented by Mr Emma Tucker also commended Members of Rotary Club of Ubeji for the gesture .
They noted that Rotary club of Ubeji and other Rotary clubs have been donating writing materials and other items to the school and the community , urging them to keep doing good to the people in their mandate areas .
Head girl of the school, Miss Jeniffer chukwuka who spoke on behalf of the students of Yonwuren College thanked Rotary club of Ubeji for donating the projects to the school, pledging that they will take good care of the projects to further improve their hygiene condition.
