The Delta North College of Youth has endorsed former Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, as the sole senatorial candidate for Delta North ahead of the 2027 elections.
The endorsement came during a one-day Leadership and Strategic Summit held on Tuesday at the Southend Event Centre, DBS Road, Asaba. At the event, the youth body also presented an iconic leadership portrait to Okowa in recognition of his public service record.
The Delta North College of Youth comprises the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN Delta State Chapter, community youth associations, student unions, female youth groups, the Christian Association of Nigeria Youth Wing, non-indigenes associations, and political youth leaders across the district.
Organizers said the summit was designed to equip participants with 21st-century leadership tools, strategic thinking capacity, and a community development orientation to prepare a new generation of visionary leaders.
Youth leaders at the summit pledged to mobilize widespread support for Okowa, citing his leadership legacy and contributions to the state.
Dignitaries present included the Executive Chairman of Aniocha South LGA, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike; former Commissioner and National Assembly member, Hon. Chief Lawrence Oshiegbu; Rt. Hon. Onyemaechi Ada Anioma; Commissioner for Rural Roads and Public Communication, Hon. Charles Aniagwu; former federal lawmaker, Hon. Hilary Ibegbulem; and Hon. Pascal Adigwe.
Also in attendance were Hon. Kelvin Ezenyili, Chairman of Oshimili South LGA; Hon. Monday Odigwe, Chairman of Ika North East LGA; Hon. Marilyn Okowa-Daramola, member representing Ika North East in the Delta State House of Assembly; Hon. Barr. Bridget Anyafulu, member representing Oshimili South; Hon. Chinye Bazim, Chairman of Aniocha North LGA; Hon. Innocent Ezewezie of Oshimili North; Hon. Emeka Elekokwuri, former state lawmaker; Hon. Emeka Asiwe; and other political functionaries and youth leaders from across Delta North.
