Foremost Urhobo socio political group, Urhobo Peoples Integrity Organisation (UPIO) has hailed the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly Rt Hon Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori over his victory as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 Governorship Candidate at the Supreme Court on Friday, 21 October, 2022.
This was contained in a statement signed by Dr Olorogun Ebenezer Okorodudu and Olorogun Jerry Eruvbedede (National President and National Secretary respectively ) on behalf of UPIO in Ekpan Uvwie Local Government Area at the weekend.
The statement proudly noted that UPIO has identified with the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly right from the inception of the case ” based on the fact that Rt Hon Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori won the PDP governorship primary election convincingly.
” It has always been our prayers that God should give him victory at the courts ” the statement added.
UPIO however stated that the Supreme Court victory was a victory for justice and all Deltans.
‘The overwhelming victory clearly indicates that Rt Hon Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori has been ordained by God to govern Delta State in 2023.’ the statement added
The statement appreciated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and other numerous good spirited PDP members in Delta State for standing firmly behind Rt. Hon Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori throughout the trial of the case.
The statement however called on Olorogun David Edevbie and his supporters to join hands with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the leader of party and other PDP members in state in ensuring victory for Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori in the 2023 Delta State Governorship election
‘God has spoken through the people at the primary election and the Supreme Court .
The PDP remains one and united big family ‘ the statement added.
