The Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Olorogun Anthony Ofoni, on Wednesday marked his second year in office with a thanksgiving service and the donation of seven vehicles to support legislative, security and administrative operations.
The second year in office thanksgiving Anniversary of Olorogun Anthony Ofoni was held at the Uvwie Council Secretariat .
The event began with praise and worship, followed by prayers for God’s protection over the Chairman, staff and the people of Uvwie.
Speaking during the thanksgiving ceremony the Vice Chairman, Mr. Andrew Agagbo,Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Rire Uruesheyi, Head of Personnel Management, Mrs. Julie Manager, NULGE chairperson Mrs
Mercy Ugavah and HOD Health, Dr. Owhojeddo Oghogho congratulated the council chairman for what they described as purposeful leadership and impactful service delivery.

For his part Uvwie local government council chairman Olorogun Anthony Ofoni said he chose to commence his second year anniversary with thanksgiving to God, attributing all achievements in the past two years to the directive of God and the support of the executive, legislators and staff of the council.
He assured residents that his administration remains committed to executing more projects with the cooperation of the people.
On security, the Chairman commended the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Dr Emmanuel Sideso JP OON Abe I for his peace and security agenda and for supporting the council’s peace initiatives.
To further boost security and governance, Ofoni announced the purchase of seven vehicles, four Sienna buses and three saloon cars for distribution to the Leader of the Legislative Arm, the Secretary to the Council and to security operatives.
He revealed that security personnel will be recruited with the help of Effurun Area commander to compliment the police force in Uvwie local Government Area.
Unveiling the vehicles, the Executive Chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue service, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, commended the gesture and urged the Council Chairman to sustain efforts at attracting development to Uvwie Local Government Area.
In a sermon titled _Memorial Thanksgiving_, Rev. Flourish Efechaobor said the Chairman did well to put God first by beginning his anniversary with thanksgiving.
Highlights of the event included special song ministrations, a quiz competition, and the cutting of the anniversary cake.
