The Warri South Local Government Council Immunization Department, has embarked on a one day enlightenment campaign on the dangers of tobacco.
The local government council immunization officer Mrs Roseline Wikie spoke exclusively to our correspondent in a media chat at the Warri Main Motor Park, Warri Sapele Road , Warri on Wednesday 31st May, 2023.
She disclosed that the World Health Organisation ( WHO ) declared Wednesday May 31st as’ World No Tobacco Day ‘ .” So we are here to enlighten the people on the dangers of tobacco ” she added
Mrs Wikie quickly added that in the course of the enlightenment campaign, residents were offered free medical services on tests on blood pressure, and malaria as well as advice on family planning . To this end , WHO customised conforms were offered to beneficiaries free of charge by Warri South Local Government Council Immunization Department.
She also stated that response for the exercise was encouraging..
