The Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Area, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, inspected the ongoing desilting of drainage channels, canals, and waterways across the council area as part of measures to tackle heightened flood risks this rainy season.
Speaking during the inspection, Andaye described the exercise as a strategic intervention to ensure free flow of water, mitigate flooding, and protect lives, property, public infrastructure, and livelihoods.

He said his administration will continue to prioritize preventive measures that guarantee the safety and well-being of residents.
The Council Chairman also inspected ongoing infrastructure upgrades at the Bomadi High Court Complex.
The project includes expanded parking space, improved power infrastructure, and other essential amenities aimed at enhancing the operational capacity of the court.

The High Court Complex serves as a critical judicial institution for Bomadi, Burutu, and Patani Local Government Areas, bringing justice closer to the people and reducing the burden of long-distance travel for legal services.
Commenting on the project, Hon. Andaye said strengthening critical public institutions through strategic infrastructure investment remains a key priority of his administration.
