The apex socio- cultural body in the ancient Urhobo Kingdom of Uvwie in Uvwie Local Government Area, Uvwie General Improvement Union (UGIU) has mourned the demise of the Unuevworo ( traditional mouth piece) of Etche R’ Ekpan ( traditional administrative unit) in Uvwie Kingdom, High Chief Peter Iffie.
This was contained in a statement issued by the President General of the union, High Chief Abovi Hope Erute at his office in Uvwie Community Hall along Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Road, Effurun last weekend.
The statement noted that the news of the death of High Chief Iffie came to the union as a rude shock, noting also that the Unuevworo of Etche R’ Ekpan departed planet earth at a time his services were needed most by Etche R’ Ekpan and indeed Uvwie Kingdom.
The statement described the departed traditional mouth piece of Etche R’ Ekpan as a hard working, resourceful, forthright and humble personality who contributed immensely to the growth of Uvwie Kingdom as a former Vice Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council and community leader as the Unuevworo of Etche R’ Ekpan.
The statement however prayed God to grant the families of the respected Uvwie high chief the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
