EFFURUN – Hon. Edafe Emakpor, member representing Uvwie Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, has appealed to the All Progressives Congress executive and members in Uvwie LGA for support ahead of his re-election bid.

Emakpor made the appeal on Sunday during a visit to the APC Uvwie LGA executive in Effurun, where he formally declared his intention to contest the seat again.

He thanked the party leadership and members for the reception and acknowledged those who stepped down from the race, promising not to disappoint the constituency if re-elected.
The lawmaker commended Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and APC leaders in Uvwie for sustaining peace in the area.
He urged the LGA and ward executives, as well as women and youth leaders, to back him to build on his achievements.
He also called on members to support Oborevwori’s re-election, citing projects attracted to the state within three years of his first term.

Emakpor said the governor had approved his requests for new classroom blocks at Alegbo Secondary School and the reconstruction of Ohorhe One Primary School, Ugbolokposo Primary School, Eruohwo the Second Primary School, and Okoribi Primary School.
He added that several communities including Alaka had received new transformers for reconnection to the power grid, while some constituents had benefited from his overseas educational sponsorship programme.
APC Uvwie LGA Chairman, Mr. Sylvester Oghenevwede, welcomed Emakpor and urged party executives and members to work for his victory.

He also thanked aspirants who withdrew from the race and called on them to support the lawmaker.
Other speakers, including Chief Roy Grant Oke Unuevworo of Etche R’Ogbe, Hon. Sunny Okeke, and David Esiekpe,a lawyer amongst others pledged support for Emakpor’s re-election.
They urged him to pursue the creation of an additional Uvwie constituency, saying the LGA qualified for it.
Speakers also appealed to residents yet to collect their Permanent Voter’s Cards to do so, describing the PVC as key to electoral success.
