2026 FIFA WORLD CUP – ROUND OF 16
Canada and Paraguay have exited the 2026 FIFA World Cup following defeats in their Round of 16 clashes.
Canada’s run ended with a 3-0 loss to Morocco at Houston Stadium on Saturday. Azzedine Ounahi scored twice for the North Africans, while Soufiane Rahimi added a third to send Morocco through to the quarter-finals.
Paraguay also bowed out after a 1-0 defeat to France. A second-half penalty from Kylian Mbappe proved decisive as the former world champions booked their spot in the last eight.
France will now face Morocco in Thursday’s quarter-final, with a semi-final ticket at stake.
In other fixtures, England meet Mexico in a blockbuster clash at the Estadio Azteca on Sunday. Erling Haaland and Norway will also look to upset Brazil as the race for quarter-final places continues.
